Shelburne Harbour is located approx. 200 Kms southwest of Halifax via limited access highway route
103. It is open to navigation year round; Shelburne Harbour is the 3rd largest natural harbour in the world. See
Canadian Hydrographic Service Chart #4209.
The harbour is approx. 10 nautical miles long with the average depth from 14.6 metres to 8.0 metres
at low tide. The turning basin is approx. 550 metres.
The Shelburne Marine Terminal is located @ Latitude 43*44’59” N, Longitude
65* 19’ 6” W. The main wharf (TEE) running east to west is 169 metres long and 20 metres wide. The Stem running
north to south is 135 metres long and 15 metres wide. The water depth at the TEE @ low tide is 8.2 to 9.1 from east to west
and the Stem ranges from 8.0 to 2 metres south to north. Shore power at the terminal is as follows: 110 – 120 Vac. 60
Hz / 1 phase – 30 Amp, 220 -240 Vac. 60 Hz / 1 phase – 50 Amp. and 220 –
240 Vac. 60 Hz / 3 phase – 100 Amp.

Tide Ranges:
Tide ranges from 2.62 metres high to .22 metres low throughout the year.
Anchorage / moorings:
There is approx. 4 to 5 deep water anchorage points in the Harbour and there are several private
moorings owned and rented out by SHYC.

Port of Shelburne – Shelburne Marine Terminal:
The facility is available on a first come first served bases, however a reasonable effort will
be made to provide requested space to vessels which contact the Port Manager to reserve space for a guarantee arrival time.
Vessel must comply with instructions from the Port Manager regarding location and available berthing time.
All daily charges are “per day or any part thereof” and calculated from midnight to
midnight. Berthage and shore power fees will be charged according to the schedule set down by the Shelburne Port Authority.
All charges are in Canadian dollars and are subject to 15% Harmonized Sale Tax.
